Queen Letizia of Spain: A Style Icon with a Heart

Queen Letizia of Spain made a powerful statement during an important visit to the central headquarters of the Association for the Prevention, Reintegration, and Care of Prostituted Women (APRAMP) in Madrid. The 51-year-old royal looked absolutely stunning in her ensemble that exuded elegance and sophistication.

Instead of opting for a flashy outfit, Queen Letizia chose to wear a longline black coat by Carolina Herrera. The coat, simple and yet refined, was devoid of any buttons or collars. It perfectly complemented her black culottes and allowed the real star of her look to shine – a classic red, white, and black tweed cropped jacket. The jacket, adorned with silver embellished buttons, was not just a fashion statement, but a symbol of empowerment. Crafted by female victims of trafficking under APRAMP, it represented strength and resilience.

Queen Letizia’s choice of a tweed jacket instantly brought to mind the occasions when Princess Kate had also rocked red tweed. Whether during a portage session for her ‘Shaping Us’ campaign or a visit to the V&A, both Queens proved that tweed can be elegant and fashionable.

But it wasn’t just Queen Letizia’s jacket that turned heads. Her shoes also showcased her impeccable sense of style. The strappy Mary-Jane style ballet flats by Adeba, made from black patent leather, were not only gorgeous but also predicted to be a major trend in 2024.

Queen Letizia’s hair and makeup perfectly complemented her ensemble. She opted for a glamorous take on a natural look, with red-toned brown eyeshadow blended at the lash line and a satin peachy-pink lip. While the Queen didn’t go overboard with jewelry, she elegantly wore a gold ring and a set of huggie hoop earrings by Gold & Roses. Her mid-length hair, styled straight, completed the overall polished look.

A Visit with a Purpose

During her visit to APRAMP, Queen Letizia had the opportunity to learn about the important work being done to support victims of trafficking and exploitation. The centre not only provides shelter but also offers training programs, including the Fashion School and the Survivors School.

As she toured the facilities, Queen Letizia met with the staff and women under the care of the project. She then chaired a discussion around the work of APRAMP, exploring the difficulties and challenges women face when rebuilding their lives and finding alternatives. The Queen was accompanied by the Minister of Equality, Ana Redondo, and received by the president and director of APRAMP, Rocío Nieto and Rocío Mora, respectively.

Queen Letizia has consistently displayed her sartorial prowess, making a statement with her fashion choices as we enter the New Year. Whether supporting her daughter Princess Leonor’s military debut or attending events at the Royal Palace, the Queen’s outfits have always been impeccable.

She wowed in a ‘Raffica’ black maxi skirt by Boüret and a stunning satin blouse with a faux fur-trimmed cape by Carolina Herrera. On other occasions, Queen Letizia rocked a black velvet power suit by Paco Rabanne or a pair of green and black tweed wide-leg trousers with a leather jacket and chunky black flats.

Queen Letizia of Spain not only shines as a fashion icon but also as a compassionate and empathetic individual. Her choice to wear the tweed jacket crafted by female victims of trafficking under APRAMP was a powerful statement of solidarity. By supporting causes close to her heart and using her platform to raise awareness, Queen Letizia sets an example for others to follow.

Her visit to APRAMP highlighted the importance of providing support and resources for women who have experienced trafficking and exploitation, emphasizing the need for change and inspiring others to take action. Queen Letizia’s style is not just about looking good; it’s about making a difference.
