Blake Lively was spotted in New York City over the weekend at events for her film, It Ends With Us, and for her Betty Blooms Pop-Up store. The floral-themed venue was a nice touch, but Lively’s choice of outfit was a bit overwhelming. The bright pink ensemble, consisting of a Péro minidress and a matching long coat, was a bit too much. The embroidery and linked resin circles with real pressed flowers suspended inside seemed a bit overdone, and her braided hair with fabric flowers was slightly too much as well.
Chanel Blue Look
Changing into a Chanel outfit, Lively continued the floral theme. However, the blue blouse and straight-legged pants seemed more fitting for a casual day out rather than an event. The flower-shaped silver handbag was a nice touch, but the overall look lacked sophistication. The dusty blue Louboutin shoes also did not quite match the outfit, making the entire look seem mismatched.
Lively then chose a Versace dress in a red and white pattern, paired with yellow tights and red Mary Jane heels. While the color combination was bold, the outfit as a whole missed the mark. The yellow tights seemed out of place and did not complement the dress well. Leaving her hair down and wavy was a nice change, but did not elevate the look.
The final floral outfit of the day was a minidress by Oscar de la Renta. The textured flower design forming a bustier at the top and an asymmetrical hem at the bottom was unique, but not particularly flattering on Lively. The half-up hairstyle and shimmering eyeshadow added some glamour to the look, but the overall outfit fell short. The strappy stiletto heels also did not quite match the dress, making the entire ensemble seem disjointed.
While Blake Lively’s fashion choices at the New York City events were bold and daring, they did not quite hit the mark. The floral theme was consistent throughout the day, but the execution of the outfits was lacking. The mismatched accessories, overwhelming prints, and lack of cohesion in the outfits detracted from Lively’s usual style and elegance. Moving forward, it may be beneficial for Lively to reconsider her approach to styling and focus on creating cohesive looks that highlight her beauty and sophistication.
